If you've spotted us geared up outside the café most mornings lately, now you know what we've been working on. The first original cycling apparel collection from The Bike Café Berlin is finished. Not a white-label kit with an iron-on logo, but gear we designed ourselves, tested thoroughly, and most importantly—actually wrinkled up on the roads around Berlin.
Why Our Own Kit at All?
A bike café without its own jersey is a bit like an espresso roaster without a house blend. It works. But something's missing. We wanted a kit you'd instantly recognize as "Bike Café," without a massive logo slapped across the chest. Berlin as a city takes center stage—TBC supports in the details. That's exactly how we did it.
The Berlin Jersey – Acid Wash Blue
The centerpiece of the collection. Large BERLIN lettering on the front above a graphic stripe pattern, the rest in an acid-wash print in blue tones that looks almost like concrete with patina up close. The print runs seamlessly across front, sleeves, and back—each jersey is a small one-of-a-kind piece thanks to the print technique.
Technically it's a classic race-cut jersey:
- Full front zip with garage detail at the neck for comfort
- Side mesh panels under the arms for ventilation on hot days
- Three classic rear pockets plus one small water-resistant zipper pocket for keys, cards, or energy bars
- Silicone cuffs at the hem to keep everything in place
- Reflective detail on the stripe element at the back—subtle but visible on early morning rides
The jersey comes in women's and men's cuts, both tailored. If you've tried jerseys with us before: the fit sits between a classic race-fit (tight) and an endurance-fit (more room at the waist). No aero-suction cup, but definitely not a tunic.
The Bibshorts – Simple in Mint
To go with the jersey, we have matching bibshorts in a subtle mint-turquoise. Deliberately no second print—anyone who's worn a fully patterned pair knows why. The shorts are the stage for the jersey, not a second star.
What's inside:
- Italian chamois with varying foam density for long rides—we tested them on 5+ hour distances before giving the green light
- White mesh straps with ribbed texture for breathability—looks clean under the jersey in summer
- Deep women's back cut (see photo), classic Y-cut for men's
- Side cargo pocket on the thigh—fits a bar or phone without shifting as you pedal
- Wide leg opening band without silicone ring, but stays put where it should
- Discrete BERLIN – THE BIKE CAFÉ print on the thigh
Gloves – Tie-Dye to Match
The only part of the collection where we let ourselves have a bit more fun: short gloves in blue tie-dye with a white TBC logo on the back of the hand. Gel-padded palm, terry thumb for your forehead, solid enough for long days. Plus: on a summer morning, you'd rather slip these on than sterile black.
Two Additional Jersey Designs
Because one print is never enough, we've made the Berlin Jersey cut in two more designs:
Folklore – a dark navy with subtle geometric pattern in pastel tones (mint, lavender, apricot). A calm design for slow Sunday rides. TBC logo discreet on the right chest.
Leopard – yes, we did it. Classic leopard print, solid TBC logo. If you love it, you know exactly why. If not, Berlin and Folklore are waiting.
Sizes and Availability
Currently in stock in sizes XS to XXL, in unisex cut.
A quick note on sizing: We run race-fit. If you're unsure, stop by the café and try a size on—we have samples, so you don't have to blind-order and return.
